At this point in the process most moisture has been removed, but there are still many various sizes of wood material. The next parts of the process sorts out the various sizes of material- and then run the larger pieces through Hammermills(2), which are powerful machines which break them into smaller pieces. This is a BIG job as one look overhead in the factory will tell you. Large bins the size of dump trucks(1) are suspended near the ceiling and shaking back and forth to screen the material sizes. The process is similar to a manual coin sorter where different size screens allow various size pieces to fall through and then take different paths.
Additional massive fans (3) keep the material moving along toward the storage silos.
