Anyone have a ZC fireplace made by selkirk? I am considering one of these. Any info would be appreciated. I am looking for a ZC EPA fireplace. I have looked at the Kozy Heat z42 and these.

Selkirk has a nice line of ZC's.

If you are interested in EPA ZC you may also want to look at Valcourt (broken link removed to http://www.valcourtinc.com/products.aspx?CategoId=20), There are 3 EPA models.

Or you could look at Enerzone (through dealers only) (broken link removed to http://enerzone-intl.com/product.aspx?CategoId=19&Id=446) or Osburn (through dealers or Internet retailers) (broken link removed to http://www.osburn-mfg.com/product.aspx?CategoId=19&Id=439). Osburn has a promotion this month for $350 off the unit.

Also on some of these units you can install a 'heat dump kit'. Basically a blower that hides behind the wall and turns itself on with a thermostat. You can program it for 2 zones depending which room you want to warm up first. Think of it of turning your ZC into a small furnace to heat up another area. The reason I mention this is one of the most common complaint of High-Efficiency ZC installed in a small to medium room is the room will get quite hot. So piping some of that heat somewhere else might be a good idea.

Disclaimer: I work for the MFG.

Kozy has a good reputation and several users here. Odds are they won't be on the forum at this time of year, but do a search on Kozy for many posts on this fireplace. Haven't seen Selkirk's, but that doesn't mean too much.
