Hi,
a problem here,
when I turn on the stove,
I have a slight increase in co2, from 400 to 600
and sometimes even about 10 ppm co,
I have ruled out almost all the possible causes,
negative pressure etc
except my doubt remains about this shelf,
which reaches and exceeds 70 C (over 160 F)
could this be the cause?
The distance is 28 centimeters, just over 10 inches

What Jotul model is this? You said “when I turn on the stove.” Is this a gas unit? What is the side clearance to combustibles cited on the rating plate & in the manual? It could be adhesives or the finishing materials on the cabinet out gassing due to the heat.

I am writing from Italy and I make mistakes, sorry, it is a Jotul F 500 eco wood stove the manual indicates 1 meter away, at least, flammable materials, so I have to think of a solution, perhaps an aluminum strip could solve it, I thought I could check with the instrument to monitor co, directly in that area, if it is the cause I should have slightly higher values

What is the construction material of the box that this shelf lid covers? The close clearance on that side is unsafe. :ZZZ

Are there other clearance issues with this installation? The left side needs at least 41cm clearance. The rear clearance may depend on whether the stove has a rear heat shield attached or not.

the box is built of bricks,
with an iron band,
to support the oak wood covering (this wood is at least 50 years old)
and the box has porcelain stoneware tiles on the outside, and an aluminum profile at the corner.
To tell the truth, I expect that this tile on the right side will explode in a few days, because it also gets very hot,
but I am more worried about the wooden shelf.
On the left side there are almost 50 centimeters,
and I have much less heat.
Behind I have the heat shield, the wall is full concrete up to the air intake and then concrete blocks.
How could I avoid a fire risk?
Thanks

The safest solution is to replace the wooden lid with something non-combustible like metal. Or shorten it on the stove side to meet the clearance requirement and cap the top of the block with something cosmetic like tile.
