Just curious if any gifts were received. Firewood related, burning or processing.
What did you get?

Don't know if this is what you meant...

Well. This.
I guess to have a burning log on the stove (not in) when the stove is cold?

Wish I could hit two like buttons.
Laugh and love it.

I got a new ash pail, the wood handled one with a lid they sell at tractor supply. Before that i was just using the old ashpan from the osburn sitting next to the stove lol

The handle looks to be dual purpose. Drain water from the ice tank and flush the ashes.

I gifted myself some time in the garage to turn an old axe head into a pickaroon and give it a nice hickory handld if that counts. The wife thought so.....
I have a bunch more of these smaller heads laying around I think I might make a run of them and give them to wood burning neighbors for a Christmas gift.

My husband got a soapstone ashtray from an artisan who works somewhat near our home. We sometimes like using riddles of sorts with our presents. His card read, "This is to encourage good habits, not bad, but is still meant to be used for the purpose for which it was built." Since we are definitely a non-smoking household, my husband was a bit perplexed, but my teenage daughter solved the puzzle immediately. My husband and I had been discussing ash control on the hearth, and this seemed a good method. He likes soapstone, as does our whole family.
