Let me be the first to write Welcome to the forum. There are lots of Americans and Canadians here, but also a few woodburners in Great Britain, I think, so hopefully you'll get an answer soon. Personally, I have never seen nor heard of wood briquettes, but I imagine they are compressed wood chips or sawdust, similar to pellets. I don't know if they are used in North America.
