Wish I could find an Alderlea T6

I am looking forward to sucking down a few brews after installing the T6. I also have to get the Clarion (beast pictured in my avatar) out of the house. Not sure what that weighs but I think its alot. Fortunately It is on the first floor and I have a couple french doors that open pretty wide very close to the stove's position. I do plan to burn 24/7 once i get it. The more I read the more excited I get. Very nice pictures and good looking hearth as well. I like the elevated design, less bending over to feed the stove.

Woohoo. I am heading out first thing tomorrow accross the border to get my T6. Is there anything I need to check for when I pick it up? Being an international transaction I want to make sure i dont need to go back and forth trying to resolve any issues. I assume the firebricks are packed seperately, etc. How much assembly is usually required? It is still in the crate.

I do not know about the border but it is made in Canada so everything should be ok. As far as assembly its the firebricks and fan if you got one. I did not and do not think this stove needs one. When you are moving it around open the door and take the bricks out. Thats the way mine were shipped. Also there are 2 things to remember. 1 do not crush the ash pan on bottom 2 remove the 4" knockout on bottom before starting any fire. Happy burning.
Just wanted to add since you are going a great distance to make sure theres no damage. If the crate looks good then i would probably just insist on seeing the door. Got to make sure the ceramic window is good. You could probably do this without uncrateing.

A friend of mine bought a Pacific Energy Summit classic from Mainely Energy in Sanford. They might have something. It's further south but might be worth the call. I loved his Summit I bought one my self.

I checked every PE dealer in ME, NH, MA, CT, VT, including Mainly energy.... Not a single T6 to be found. I finally found one in New Bruswick and ended up getting a fair deal with the exchange etc. It is unreal how scarce these things are. Lots of T4's and T5's around but no T6's. I am not sure why. Either they are very popular and have been all snatched up or the larger size isnt a big seller and shops dont stock them. Anyway, from what I have read about PE's I think it was a good choice. We'll see.

Congratulations OH! Glad you could locate one, though it sounds like quite a journey. How far will you have to travel to get the stove?

Only a couple hours. It will make a nice day trip. Hope to have it installed and burning by the end of the weekend. Sign me up for the T6 owners club.

You have a warm welcome. Sorry to see the old cook stove going. I have a fond spot for them. In one place I lived in CT it was my primary source of heat.

If iI didn't get this Summers Heat for a steal last year at Lowes, I would be grabbing one of them thar T6's. Thats one sexy stove.

Glad you found your stove, OH! Drive safely. My T5 was fully assembled, with the bricks wrapped in plastic inside the firebox.
