My combustion blower motor gets an intermittent high pitch squeal. If I push on the end of the shaft with a gloved hand while it is running, the noise stops as long as there is pressure on the end of the shaft. As soon as the pressure is gone, the squeal starts again. It is supposed to be a sealed bearing, but I tried some white lithium spray on the end of the shaft. I don't know if it will get into the bearing at all, but is quiet as new for the time being. Has anyone else tried using this stuff for this problem. I see a few threads on this subject. I see that you should not use any type of penetrating oil or anything with a detergent in it on an electric motor. I read on another website that white lithium is ok. Any thoughts?
