I have a 20-25 yr. old, small, airtight woodstove. The chimney sweep said I could get more heat, and longer burns if I had a stovepipe damper. Online I found two. The standard in pipe damper, and one (like a Tee) that allows room air to go up the chimney called a "stove pipe draft control". I would like to know what would be better for my setup. The stove is in the basement so looks are not a consideration.....just getting a little more heat without too much creosote buildup.
Thanks.

Sounds like the 2nd one is a barametric draft control. Really hard to set up and a PITA if you ask me. I have a 20 year old Fisher in the shop and just use the round in pipe one and it works fine though not as "automatic" as the other.
