Hi guys, first time here for me. looks like a very resourceful site
I have a freestanding lopi that is piped into a chimney directly behind it. the chimney flue is 9x13. I would like to purchase a zero clearance extrordinair44. the only thing holding me up is the proprietary chimney liner. I do not understand why this system is any better than a clay liner but if I need it then so be it. I talked with the mason who built the chimney about possibly removing the clay liner to make more room for the metal but he said even at that I would not have room for a 12"OD.
Question: is there an oval setup that would work?
I am pretty well determined to get this project completed without sistering up the triple walled chimney and chase with my existing brick chimney. that would get ugly fast. if the end result is to take the chimney down to the point where my liner would enter and rebuild I may just do that. I'm hoping someone has other options to consider
I cant be the first with this dilemma
thanks
