So I went to order some Uncle Jeds Douglas Fir pellets and they don't have any, nor do they know when they will get any. They now have Western Elite, which they say are (almost)comparable to Bear Mountain. Has anyone burned these??

j-takeman said:The Only Douglas fir pellet near me is Blazers from West Oregon Wood Products(still to much to travel for them). I can also get Armstrong SPF softwoods from the same dealer. Are these available out your way and if so could you try to grade them?

(broken link removed) To far for me to travel there. If I ever get out that way I want to get a few bags to sample for the forum. But its probably not going to happen this year.
On occasion you might see the Blazers at a local HD. But I haven't seen them in a few years so don't count on that one!
One thing you could do depending on location is talk to BT Ent. in Bristol CT. The owners name is Brian and he had mentioned he could get some of the Western brands. If we get enough enlisted he might get a truck load. But things might have changed. All we could do is ask him. http://www.btpellet.com/

Ive bought from BT for many years, even Bought my Oakies from him last season. Years ago BT was the only large dealer in the state. Now they are poping up all over the place. Not sure how many CT folks are on or be interested, but Id consider a ton or so of a Doug fir pellet, if it wasnt too ridiculously expensive. Im just getting ready to start hoarding, and Ive seen some hAMMERS AT 230 AND oAKIES @250.
