middleborough, ma.
I bought the warming shelves that attach to the sides of the stove, see picture. We really want to put these on and I figured out how to keep the screen up with the kids around AND get the shelves on so I pulled them out yesterday and read the directions. "A few minutes" SWEET! Each set of screws came with an Allen wrench too :)

I HAVE TO TAKE THE GD TOP OFF THE STOVE!!!!!!!!!!
ARGH!!!!!!!

Looks like it will wait until the Spring cleaning, at least my stove will be cleaner than Elks when I'm done!
Thankfully its a gasket-ed construction and not cement.

Ouch. And the secondary baffle. And the primary air manifold...

Thankfully its a gasket-ed construction and not cement.
That's for sure. Once it's apart, I'd be interested to know if you see any signs of leaks, especially on the primary manifold. That thing takes alot of heat i.e. abuse in this design.

Yeah precaud, I am not looking forward to this as any of the work involved wont come to fruition until 6 months later. Keeping stews/soups etc is something we both wanted from them. We can also hang mittens/socks etc from it after snow play

Yeah... but that's where you're great imagination will be of immense help!

And plate warmers and so on... very practical - you'll be glad you did it - I wish I had 'em.

LOL I wish I had put them on when the stove was furniture. I waited for the pipe for 6 weeks. Friggin thing was just sitting there!
