Can anyone reccomend a brand of water filter that they have installed on their systems.? I have seen a few on this site but cant zoom in far enough to see the namebrand.

Thanks,
Rob

Check these out: I have the stainless model (not from this vendor, but the picture looks identical to mine); got it years ago. Have had trouble with the gasket holding up, and I ended up making my own from a 3" rubber cap designed for plastic drain pipe. Cut the center out of the cap, the cap fits right over the stainless body and the cover screws down tight. No problem since.

For filters, I use: this is rated only to 165F, but I have used it without any apparent problem.

You also may want to consider a wye sediment strainer; from what I have read 100 micron mesh is good enough for a boiler or a plate hx.

Is that in addition to the filter, or instead of? Would it matter where you plumbed the wye sediment strainer in?

How would you know when it was clogged?

Thank you Jim that's what I was looking for. I did find some heavy duty stainless steel ones but way to expensive.
