Can not get stove to burn right. I just get lazy flame bad black soot. I have it vented into an exsisting masonary chimney which the manual states it should not be. But every tells me that should be fine, And it's the stove not my venting. Do I need to run run a 4in liner? Any suggestions?

try a different pellet. Theres alot of bad pellets out the this year. Get a well known brand and see how it goes.

There are 2 ash trap covers on each side that must be cleaned out. Remove the 2 bolts and the silicone gasket and suck out all the ash.
