Title says it. We are buying a VC stove. My wife would very much like a red stove with matching flue pipe. Our local stove guy warned me that the flue pipe might not match the stove and that the difference might be disappointing. Comments?

That is often the case. Unless the stove manufacturer supplies the stove pipe it may not match well. The stovepipe can be painted, but the palette for high temp paint is not color-matched to stove enamel.
However, in this case VC makes matching enameled pipe for their stoves. It may not be an exact match but it should be close.
