Hey guys. New to the forum. I just inherited and refurbished an VC Intrepid II 1990. The wood stove was in pretty good condition. So far, here is what I have done:
Is this normal? Can I seal it? The stove is a biscuit (almond-ish) color so I don't want to use black stove cement.
- Removed and replaced all of the stove gaskets.
- Removed and cleaned the air mechanisms (there is one below the cat and one attached to a dampener).
- Polished the exposed cast Irion in the back.
- Used an air hammer to remove the chipping enamel on the doors and top.
- Painted the doors and top with rust oleum high heat paint.
