I know there are several threads on here with info for pellet stoves and running on battery backup for long periods, which is fantastic information. However many of those options involve inverters and larger standalone batteries.

Looking to see if anyone had success/fails with particular models of consumer UPS (Apc/Cyberpower/etc)

My use case is brownouts, flickers, and the 30 seconds of outage while the automatic standby generator comes online.

I have a Piazzetta Sabrina - so any power interruption causes it to go into full shutdown mode which I have yet to find a way to avoid.

Currently a new Cyberpower 1500VA AVR is on it, but it can not handle it. It seems like the inductive loads on the motors don't like the ups output. The fans shut off, but stove keeps running, which is not ideal. I had an older and cheaper APC 400w model which actually worked really well, but it died and I haven't found a model that plays nice.

It runs about 70w while running so the total load is not the issue, seems to be the output quality combined with the electronics on the stove.

Looking up the Cyberpower 1500VA AVR, that is simulated sine wave.

You need a pure sine wave model. It is tricky finding one because nearly all will advertise pure sign wave, and then later say it is simulated sine wave in battery mode. Unfortunately, they are more expensive than a regular UPS.

It looks like the Tripp Lite 1500AV is pure sine wave all the way

I'm sure APC has some too, but in my short search, didn't see any that had specific wording I was looking for, so wouldn't chance it.

Hi bought this in preparation for getting my new stove:

CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS System, 1000VA/600W, 10 Outlets, AVR, Mini-Tower

Piece of junk. It had a fatal fault code during my first testing on the first day. The sealed battery in these UPS's are so small it would amaze you. They are so bad the company didn't even want it back, they just gave me a credit.
If you want a UPS, and not an on-line system (Inverter, battery, charger) then get another brand NOT Cyberpower

I have heard nothing but bad about Cyberpower but ive never owned one😳. Tripp lite make some very good components but they are pricey

The price was right. I would try another one (different model) and just make sure I could return it. Make sure to do the factory test as soon as you get it. Do not test it by unplugging. Use the built in test mode. If that works then use a powerbar with a switch so the ground and neutral stay connected when you do a real test. Do not connect a tungsten load to test like a heater.

I have posted about them before, I buy refurbished APC's from these guys, the 1500 will do what you want:

Also you can go on FB marketplace and pickup APC units that need new batteries, it is not that hard to replace them, people are just lazy.

These guys are quick and sell good replacement batteries for UPS's:
