My kid threw something down the heat outlet vent and now it stinks like burning plastic whenever the stove is on. Any thoughts on how to get it out? I have a 2014 Mt Vernon (Quadrafire).

Glad I don't have kids. If it was my kid, I'd be warming it's rear end.

If you smell burning plastic you are out of luck with (Melted stuck to heat exchanger)
getting a clean removal!! Can you see it?
Do you know which tobe it is in ?
Worst case run the stove hot open widows,Fan in widow
run stove hot until the plastic has burnt away
Good Luck

Kids should never be allowed anywhere near a bio mass stove, on or off.
