Can't wait to see these secondaries in action!

Quite a good size firebox for a medium stove. Sorry, don't have any "official" measuring devices on hand!

One pic straight down through the cooktop/top loading door and baffle.

[Hearth.com] Today has been a big day, Rangeley is home! WARNING: STOVE PORN

All the chimney stuff visible in the first pic is ICC Excel Stainless 6". 2 48", 2 18", Square support and Deluxe Rain Cap.
Stove Pipe (boxed in the first pic) is ICC Doublewall.

Gotta get movin' now! Going to be burning at night here soon! (Late Sept. usually.)

Hmmm. Just noticed the images don't show up in the post. Is that possible here?

I don't recall the arrival of my wood stove as being as big a deal as the arrival of my first daughter, or first grandchild, but..........

I understand the anticipation, THAT'S for sure!

The wife and I are expecting our first in January. Talk about anticipation!

Hopefully that beaut of a stove will be in a place where you'll be able to soften the mood when you are up 2/3 the night with that little one :)

congrats 2x

Looks nice. Nice and simple. Is the baffle plate stainless or some sort of ceramic? Is that side door a fake out? It has a hole in it, is that secondary air? Is there a foot pedal for the top door? Is it big enough to load large wood?

Thanks for the pics.

There are no side doors, it's top or front loading only. The hole is for the baffle bypass handle. There is no foot pedal.

Here is a link to the video of the Rangeley operation:

I will post before/after pics of the install. It's going onto my existing cultured stone raised hearth. Only difference is that the unit will vent to a straight up ICC Excel 6" Chimney instead of my current exterior cinder-block chimney that my oil boiler uses. My existing stove vents into 6" single-wall stove pipe that barely looks adequate for clothes dryer venting. The pipe runs up and 90's through the wall into the chimney. Yes, there is some kind of steel collar there but who knows how the wall was constructed. Could have 2x's right next to the flue collar for all I know. Existing setup was in place when we bought the house and doesn't draft worth a s*** in addition to being illegal.

And Thanks, we are both very excited!

MasterMech, congrats on the new arrival, and congrats on the, soon to be, new arrival.
Looking forward to pics.
When the little one is keeping you up (unless you're REALLY lucky), a rocker near the stove will be a nice comfortable place to hang out.

I like this new top loader by Jotul but one thing that really bugs me is those two fire bricks in the back that stick out further than the rest. I can see those being in the way when front loading and not lasting very long. I wonder if it would hurt anything to just remove them?

First thing I thought of PapaDave. Congrats on the new stove.

The heck with the stove. I want that trailer.

That's not just a trailer. It's an emergency man-cave.

Lol. The trailer is a custom Pace-American of which several were built for John Deere dealers and their Ready-To-Mow program. I picked this one up used for a steal. It's designed for on-site light service/maintenance work on small pieces of outdoor power equipment. On-Board 6kw Genset (remote controls mounted in the trailer), lights, lawn tractor lift, Oil/fluid evacuator system, blade grinder/balancer, vise and a SS workbench across the front make it pretty much my shop on wheels. It has come in handy. :coolsmirk:

I have a pic of it hitched to my heavy-hauler not long after I brought it home. Hopefully I will be able to wrap it in new vinyl this year.

I believe there was some talk about a future econo version without TL. Maybe it will have a side door operated by that handle. . .

+1
I still want to see some 'official' hearth.com metrics on the firebox of this bad boy. :-)

I'll have to get creative since my wife & I do not drink alcohol (although some days......). Suggestions?
