I am installing a Superior DRL2055 direct vent fireplace, and install manual says, "Route a 3-wire 120 Vac unswitched power supply" . My thought is a furnace and an a/c unit both have service switches within reach of the unit, so why unswitched to the fireplace?

Maybe so that it is not accidentally turned off when hot and needs the blower to cool down? Or so that the batteries are not drained down because the unit thinks there is a power outage.
