To enamel or not to enamel? Ashford 30 - Pros and Cons of enamel, is it just decorative?

We are getting an Ashford 30, planning on just the black stove, but the enamel is pretty! Are there any good reasons to get enamel aside from how it looks? Are there good reasons not to? I figured don't get it because enamel can chip.
