Hello,
Any idea if my auger is on it's way out. This sound is coming out of the stove and I'm 95% sure it's coming from the auger

Sounds like clicking. I'm not sure if the link will work. Never done this before

Alright, thank you. I just looked and it doesn't seem terribly difficult to replace if that the case.

Auger motor noise. A thought for you- if you are taking auger motor out, if ignitor has never been replaced, might want to replace it too, they are not easy to do if auger assy is in way. Take unit out of FP, and put her on her nose, be careful of stuff shifting... Good luck.

I may not be able to get to this for awhile. Am I do any additional damage to the stove parts by letting it run like this?

Eventually, the motor will quit turning the auger and your stove will stop working
most likely sooner than later.
It is easy enough to replace and new ones are not hard to find
It is up to you to repair or not

Is the stove a quadrafire?

By the picture it appears there is alot of sawdust in the funnel of the hopper unless that is just the graininess of the pic. If there is truly that much sawdust, that can be tough on the auger. I have seen augers jam tight with dust from pellets that have been damp at one time and fell apart.

You can take the auger motor off and disassemble
check the gears and even change the grease
That way you would know for sure if it is causing the noise

Ok, i was thinking it sounded like a quad spring type auger that was catching. Have you watched the auger shaft where it connect to the auger motor, if the set screw backs out it will make noises

Update. I swapped out the auger motor and there is a new sound. Pellets are dropping so I assume the auger is spinning and the installation was good. If you can hear the sound; do you think the auger motor is bad? Or did I do something wrong?
