I am getting ready to be installing my outside air intake kit on my new stove, which is required due to it being installed in a mobile home, I have read a couple things about if a backdraft happens it could be a hazard due to hot smoke going through it? The kit I have is insulated duct but it seems sketchy now that I think about it, thought I would see if anyone else had any opinions on this.

Have it pointed down, that should make it highly unlikely to be back draft.
If both chimney and outside air kit have their openings outside (what's in a name...) pressures should be similar and it should be highly unlikely to have air pushing in the chimney leading to smoke coming out of the air inlet.

It's much more dangerous to not have an outside air kit as it will likely lead to Carbon monoxide in your tight mobile home.
