I need information in order to determine if there are available options to replace the thermopile. The problem is that the pilot light will not stay lit.

Maybe it’s my old eyes, but I see a thermocouple, not a thermopile. Thermocouples control the pilot. Thermopiles control the burner. Can you remove the logs for a better shot?

I am not sure... I think there is one of each. I can not tell how things connect below the assembly though. Here is a drawing:

As I said in subject ‘old’…. I believe the company is out of business, it is a Security Fireplace Model SBGH36RN.
It has a White-Rodgers Automatic Pilot that was discontinued before Y2K I think (Type or model 3056-2)

In my early searches I did find this pdf (a week or two ago) but in further digging I found that the 'affected' subject fireplaces were manufactured between 1990 and 1995. So I think I am good, this house was built in the late 70's. Thanks for sharing what you found though Bob, it is much appreciated.

Now, my task is finding a compatible replacement for the discontinued white-rodgers automatic pilot mod. 3056-2

From the picture that looks like a universal thermo couple and thermopile. Id go to
