I am not into the topic of surge protection as I should be. What is the best protection out there, Belkin, Monster?

I currently have to use an extension cord for my stove. Will a surge protecter plugged into an extension cord give me the protection I need?

i think if you have a heavy guage extension cord you will be fine.
i did get your pm the isobar 4ultra has a six foot cord.
and that link for amazon for $39 is the best i've found.
i almost wonder if it's expired. though it shows as current. if you are thinking about that one, i'd jump on it for $39 w/ free shipping. others are selling it for almost $60

but the two plug tripp lite folks are using is great too. don't know how long the cord is.
i'm no electrician. but i know if you get the right guage extension cord, you'll be fine.
it's when you have too small a cord for the load that it becomes a fire hazard.
but a good cord will cost you a bit too.
if six feet od cord is enough, go for the isobar4ultra (if you can get it for $39) and have a heavy duty surge protector.
and you get four outlets in the deal
they are all isolated from each other too. so if you have a tv or other electronics close enough, you can use it for them too.
kinsman stoves ]Thanks all I bought a Tripp Lite 428 from ebay today, $19.98 with free shipping. I will try it. I had my Mt Vernon on one but after working a repair order on another Mt Vernon that is out of warranty I want a very good one. Parts alone might excede $850 to get this one running again. $20 bucks is worth the price.
