New member-- Building a new home in frame stage. 36" sq Chase is framed. I have a vaulted ceiling and large attic space. I expect my class A double wall pipe to be 15ft or so. My pipe is ICS and have the square support box for the ceiling. Do I need to support the pipe every so many feet for code to the 2x4s with the pipe brackets? Or the pipe supported at the box and chase exit enough? If brackets are needed... what is the required distance? I have been digging around and cant find the info.

Thanks, Clyde

If this was exterior, then ICC recommends a wall support bracket every 8'. I would put one wall bracket in the chase about midway up the pipe.
