Stove Recommendations <26" tall

I am new to the forum. We have a fireplace that is 26 tall, 25 wide in the back (32 wide in front), and 22 deep. I'd like to add a wood stove completely within it but finding one short enough has been an issue. My wife and I really don't like the look of inserts. It also must have a glass door. There are many options in the 27-30" tall range, and I considered cutting/removing legs from one of those but I don't want to cause an issue with insurance. Other than the super tiny stoves made for tiny homes, are there any options out there for me? Thanks in advance.

Just get an insert. I have both stove and insert. Both need fans. You can get a bigger insert than you can a stove (I can’t think of any off the top of my head less than 26”. If it’s an external chimney you will get more heat into the house if you fully insulate the fireplace

Hello. My brother had the same dilemna, he would not listen to me and go with an insert. He wanted a small woodstove, so I found him a used Jotul 602, it was one season old, looked essentially new. We took the legs off of it, sitting it on patio bricks in the fireplace. Prior to dropping a liner down for it, we went to the town BO, asking him about it, and he approved the modification due to it being in the masonry fireplace. I normally am against even asking not to do an install in the correct way, but in this case, I must admit it looks right at home, we painted the patio bricks black, set on edge of stove bottom, and it looks great. We put the appropriate block off plate in place, overall it came out nice. and he approved the install. Funny part is, my brother loves his little stove. I like the 602 too, but it's older style, tiny pieces of wood (14-15") and shorter burn times would rule it out for me. I still like the looks of an insert in a fireplace (as it really was designed to be). Good luck, but please do not modify a stove without your BO permission and only if it makes safe sense to do so.
