Hi everyone! I am building a lake house in Northern Wisconsin and am currently looking at different stove and stove pipe options. This will not be the primary heat source, so I am not worried about sizing btus etc. I am leaning towards the Intrepid by Vermont Castings or something similar size in cast made in the US. Some feedback on that would be great, but what I am really struggling with is the vent type. I need about 22' of stove pipe to get from the top of the stove to the already installed DuraVent chimney box (see pic). It will be a straight shot, no bends. I have no issues with clearance. From what I have ready and been told by the local sales folks is the main use for DV is to reduce clearance requirements. Second reason is related to "draft" which I do not understand. I like the idea of the lower cost single wall with the ability to radiate the heat all the way up to the vaulted ceiling (the vent pipe will be exposed the entire length), but I do not want to worry about keeping a fire lit or any other issues you guys can point out by going single wall.
Thanks in advance.
