This thread is for anyone looking to research stove glass replacement. Hopefully some knowledgeable people will contribute and save some people some time searching the vast internet.

There at least a few types of glass used in modern wood stoves.

Pyroceram
Neoceram
Robax
Others?

Some coatings black out the fire box and only allow flames to be seen in the front of the fire box.

Others reflect heat back into the firebox and keep the glass cleaner.

Some offcolors of tinting of the glass.

Some of these are highly resistant to really high temperatures, thermal shock, and stresses like impact shock...like a log rolling into the glass or worse.

If this is a topic you’ve thoroughly researched then please feel free to add your comments to this thread.

Here’s a video by Kuma wood stoves demonstrating the impact resistance of Neoceram glass:

The topic comes up once or twice a year. There have been some good posts in the past on the topic. Here is an example:

The schott robax on osburn stoves has a lifetime warranty even against against accidental breakage

Actually drolet and enerzone have the same glass so it should be lifetime warranty as well.

Is SBI warranting the glass for their stoves, or is it glass manufacturer warranty? My guess is SBI only replaces it once if they warrant it, which is still a good thing.
