i found two 500 gallon propane tanks and want to stack them.i havent seen any drawings on how to join the tanks for the best stratifacation. can i feed them with my boiler and draw with my primary loop ? i didnt want to add mixing valves just simple in and out. a have a seton boiler w200 .id like to run my primary loop circulator thru {secondary} and my wood boiler thru it {primary} and leave my oil boiler out of the picture with ball valves. my plan right now is to keep the wood boiler running 24/7 to heat my shop [40x40 with radiant floor]if this is possible any body got any diagrams or ideas? thanks

I'm interested in doing something similar. The heat exchangers required for an open system are alot of $ so I'm looking for a cheaper storage alternative. I don't have any first hand knowledge to share but I've found some info in these threads:

thank you very much, id read those but a guess what im really looking for is an actual picture of the tanks tied together .also wood boiler inlet and outlet locations along with primary loop inlet and outlet locations. i should have been more clear. im going to start this this weekend and once there in my basement it will stink taking them out if i do it wrong.not a fan of welding in my basement. not to sound dumb if boiler inlet at top left top tank pointing straight down ,boiler return bottom right bottom tank. house primary loop intake top tank right side, house primary loop bottom tank left side should work? or should the house primary be just the opposite? also how many pipes to tie the tanks together?
