We have been doing some heavy burning last few days in Ohio. Temps in the 20s. Today we had to clean out ashes. Had some hot coals. Very windy out. Smoke started coming out of stove while we were cleaning. Seemed fine for about an hour, continued to burn. Then, I walked into the room and it seemed really smoky, yet I didn't see anything coming out of stove.
It seemed to be coming out of chimney, which was just cleaned 2 months ago. Went up on roof to check, everything seemed ok. Smoking has stopped and all is back to normal. Can the high winds have anything to do with this, and also is this a bad time to clean ashes when it is so windy? Its like a blizzard out there right now. Stove is year old Napoleon wood stove. No problems at all before.
