Hi all,
I am in the process of installing an antique Wehrle cook stove. I had an oval-to-round pipe section custom made to adapt the stove’s oval outlet to modern round pipe. The oval-to-round pipe is single wall, but the remainder of my connector pipe is double wall DVL until it goes through the ceiling. Here is my question: can I use a stovetop connector (designed to connect the stove outlet to DVL pipe) to connect the single wall pipe to the double wall? I know there are specific adapters for this purpose, but they are pricey and I’d prefer to use the part I already have if possible. I’ll attach a photo of the stovetop adapter. The crimped end does fit inside the single wall pipe, but I’m just wondering if it is a safe way to connect the two pipes.
Many thanks!
