Simple and fun thread; state your location, when you started burning, type of stove you have and about how much wood you've burnt so far this season.

I live in NW NJ, started burning mid November, I have a BK princess free standing stove and I've burnt about 2.5 full cords so far.

Eastern Long Island.
Started November 21, but only burned 100 hrs in November. BK Chinook 30.2.
2 cords even so far.

Tennessee hills.
Cold nights in November and 80s% of the time since.
Coming up on 2 cords through the big blue rock AKA Hearthstone.

I've never measured my wood piles and don't stack the same on every pile. I burn enough to stay warm and cut and split enough to more than make up what I've burnt. Probably 4-5 years ahead is just a guess of my wood piles. If I decide to drop some big trees near the house that amount can double in one year.

Burning in a large wood furnace I'm about 11 cords to date. Started late Oct. I'm in central-ish NY at about 1500ft in elevation.
Heating a 4500 sq ft old farmhouse in need of work. Burned through a lot of low BTU black ash...another factor.

Additional info: Usually stop burning end of Mar. With an occasional fires on cold damp April day/nights.

Eastern Long Island NY here, too.

1 1/2 - 2 cords (don't have many uglies left, hard to judge those, burn them during the day when I am home).

Started burning mid October some nights. Went 24/7 mid December.

Went balls to the wall mid January when it was 5F outside and the basement flooded due to a broken water intake on the well tank (lotsa fun !!!! )

Just burning the PE (2 cf box).

Then why are you contributing to this?

South-ish B.C. Canada, 2.5 cords so far
Full time BK Sirocco since the end of November and afternoon fires in Pacific Energy insert. Hopefully another month of full time burning in the basement at least.

Manitoba on lake wpg, been real cold here for 2 weeks
Osburn 3300 probably 3 1/2 cords.going to be 5+ this year.

Jotul F400 in NJ by the coast.
Burned enough to be shakin in my boots about next years supply.
Have plenty of oak for the years after next but the growing gap now has me looking for crap soft wood.

Eastern coastal Maine here and having the first more winter like winter in a long while. Heat 100% with wood other than two days I was away around Christmas. Approx 2100 sq ft house, primarily 2008 construction, and very open floor plan favorable to a wood stove.

Lopi Liberty Nextgen. Have burned around two cords of hardwood and also burned another cord or so of softwood in November and early December.

SE NC 3200 sq ft. I only burn if it’s below 40. More than most other years, but not by much solar install has me running the heat pump more. F400 Primary 1800i secondary/basement

1+ cord. I don’t keep an accurate record. My stacks have 3 years worth of wood in them. Time to reorganize and or build a real woodshed before I get my next big wood drop. It when it was really cold I could burn 8 cu ft per day. Glad that was only a two day stretch.

Central NY (about 45 miles southeast of Syracuse), Woodstock Keystone, started burning in mid-November (when consistently less than 40 degrees F all the time) and will burn through mid-March (when gets above 40 degrees F fairly consistently). So far I've burned about 1.5 full cords, and on track for 2 full cords before the burn season ends.

I wanted to ad, wood is my only heat source.

Fredericton, New Brunswick for those who have no clue where that is, Eastern Canada, 100km inland from Bay of Fundy. We had a great warm fall, few fires in October, started burning fulltime in Novemeber. We use wood apmost exclusively for our heat, roughly1800 sq. feet. Stove is a Jotul Blackbear, just installed my 3rd top baffle. We are about 2.25 cords in so far. It just got normal cold temps in the last 4 weeks, we probably went through cord in the past 4 weeks.

Seattle/Tacoma area, roughly 2 cords of Doug fir with some soft maple combined. Fortunately, the left coast is missing most of the polar vortexes that have descended on the rest of the country. If they hit us 10 times we'd be burning more like 5-6 cords.

SE CT, 2009 vintage Enviro 1700 Kodiak FS. Not a full time burner like years ago, now the wood stove supplements propane DV stoves. Working for a propane company, I get a great deal on fuel. Have resorted to burning the wood stove during the cold events mostly and some weekends. I still like like warming my getting on in years bones to the woodstove, have burned around a cord so far. The wood still costs less, I scrounge around for it as I can. Keep warm everybody, thank the lord we got mostly rain yesterday instead of snow, made for an icy mess today though.

Midcoast Maine, about 3.5 so far started in November. Have 3 stoves total, one main stove Kuma Wood Classics LE which pretty much heats the whole house (2100 sf) I really like this stove; a Vermont Castings Encore cat on other side of house which am burning right now add a little more heat as temps like 6 deg F; and a Jotul 507B hand-fired coal stove in basement which I have not fired up yet this year but may get cranked next few days to warm up the floors. Hadnt bought any more coal this year as prices wicked high, I have 4 more 50 lb bags of good anthracite nut, if I need more can swing down to Storer's Lumber in Waldoboro where they sell Blashak coal bags and pallets. All in all pretty much covered, each stove is like an individual and burns differently than the other but get to know them their quirks and whatnot, can be kind of fun at least to me. Learning how to get the maximum out of them and enjoying it at the same time. When I look at how much work we all put into getting our wood prepared for the season, I feel its nice to sit back and just appreciate and enjoy the fruits of our labors.
