Hi Everyone:

I have a 1956 1,250 sq ft ranch home with an unfinished basement. I heat with a Harman Accentra Pellet Insert upstairs. During really cold days, it has a hard time keeping up, most likely due to the age of the home/insulation and/or the cold basement. We ran a wood stove in the basement last year and it seemed to help.

I don't have the wood stove anymore. I have a Harman HydroFlex 60 Pellet Boiler that I was going to hook up to my heat pump using a water to air heat exchanger. The home also has cast iron baseboards. I'm looking for suggestions for the basement- should I hook the boiler up, get another pellet stove, or get a wood/coal stove since I live in Reading, PA coal is readily available. Any input would be appreciated with helping make up my mind.

Thanks!
