Today I used my Christmas present (6" poly brush and 5 fiberglass rods) for the first time. This is my first cleaning since installing my add-on furnace during the first week of October. The cap itself had some buildup on it that isn't shown here-this is just what came out of the 22' of pipe:

How am I doing? I try to burn hot as much as I can but I choke the air down to 1/4 open for overnights, but not until most of the wood in the firebox is well charred. I burn whatever I can find which includes pine, poplar, etc...and do get some pieces that sizzle a bit from time to time, but on the whole I'm burning good dry hardwood. I would say what is pictured is about 2 and 1/2 cups of creosote.

Looks pretty darned good, especially for 22' of flue. As long as you're just getting that coffee ground/soot type stuff, I would say you're golden.
