Looking for a Non- Cat version. Any way to tell if no picture posted. Also how do you know the year of MFG ?
What's the difference in these 2 stoves
I would like one 15 yrs or newer.

Both are non-cat models. The original Resolutes I & II were made up to 1983. The Resolute III was made from 1983-1988. They are all non-cat and tough little stoves. The Resolute Acclaim 0041 was VC's first EPA attempt and not a good one at that. My recommendation would be to avoid this stove. VC was going through a lot of quality and ownership issues during that period. A friend bought an Acclaim new. She relied on it exclusively for heat. The stove needed a rebuild due to failing combustion packages every 3 yrs. The Acclaim 2490 was made from 1994-2017. It wasn't a great stove, but better than the first try. All of the Acclaims can be quite particular about draft and cranky if draft is weak. The later models after HHT bought the company got an upgrade to the combustion package that helped reliability. The Acclaim line was dropped and replaced a few years ago by the Resolute Dauntless which now has a catalytic option which is an improvement.

There are other stoves that may be better choices depending on what is being sought.

The oldest ones - by the door style and inside fireback. The Acclaims have a UL tag on them.

On the back of the stove. On the newer stoves it looks like this.
