My 300i heats our 1200 sqft single story nice but the 3 back bricks have broken (550 bucks to buy) and I put 2 fans on it every other year (another 3-400 bucks).

Looking for replacement options, anyone have any experience replacing this insert with another one that heats as good or better? I am retired so budget is important

Had to look up the size. That’s a 3 cu ft insert. Do you want to replace it with one that large?

A PE Super insert may fit. It's much simpler and reliable. How large is the fireplace? What are its dimensions? There is also the less expensive True North TN20 and the mid-sized Drolet Escape 1500i insert or Osburn equivalent. Note that these are Canadian products so prices may jump as soon as inventory is gone.
