Removing stove polish

I would try Lacquer thinner the bottle of polish I bought said to clean the stove with lacquer thinner first. It cleaned the stove prety well evaporated fairly quick and didn't hurt anything.
 
I usually start with a wire wheel. Then acetone and steel wool. It is allot of work. Which is why I hate stove polish.
