I have a 93' Osburn 2400 insert with an offset adapter to fit my hearth and stainless liner the rest of the way, This makes cleaning interesting, as I have to sweep from the top of the chimney down, then vacuum the debris out of the offset adapter. This leaves me wondering, do I still need to remove the baffle bricks/kaowool blanket to clean the inside of my stove? (mine is the older brick type rather than the new vermiculite or C-cast baffle) The bricks/blanket are a true pain to get out and put back in, plus it will probably destroy the ceramic fiber blanket. I'm not sure if enough debris accumulates on top of the blanket to be a concern.

Debris will eventually accumulate on top of the blanket. How much is going to depend on several factors, but it probably would be good to pull the baffle every 3 yrs. at least to clean and inspect. Kaowool blankets are not expensive when purchased online and cut to size.
