I posted an earlier thread on an overfiring issue that I'm having. I did the dollar bill test on the door and I get resistance trying to pull the bill out on the top and both sides. The bottom however, I get no resistance. Is there an adjustment that I can do to pull the bottom in closer? Perhaps at the latch? I did see in the manual that there is a way to somehow adjust the door at the bottom right corner where there are two 7/16 nuts. I checked it out and I'm unsure exactly how they adjust the door to be honest.
On another note, the gasket appears to sit inside the hole that the latch assembly sits in. Seems to me that the gasket should make better contact with the front of the firebox just to the right of that hole otherwise couldn't I be getting draft in through there? The gasket is one year old as well.

Thanks all!

Was the air control sticking issue resolved? It needs to be able to close completely without sticking.

Yes. Wasn’t really something that needed to be fixed. Per the manual, the draft rod must be pulled out at least a half inch when operating the fan. It cannot be fully closed with the fan on. Apparently, if it is fully closed with the fan on then the draft control will be stuck in place only to release when the stove cools enough. The draft control works just fine as long as this rule is followed.

The manual suggestion is for ideal installs. Some installs are not ideal. If there is a tall flue system connected and the draft is too strong, then further closure of the air control may be required.

How tall is the chimney liner on the insert? If it is > 25' then the issue could be too strong draft.

I'm not sure on the height. I can ask the stove guy if I ever see him LOL. I don't expect that to be the problem though since I was not having an over firing issue last year with the stove. Something has changed since last year and I suspect it may have to do with the door or the gasket since I am not getting a tight seal on the bottom edge of it.

I'm looking for information on addressing the adjustment of the door. Specifically what is being referred to in the manual with the 7/16th nuts that can be adjusted. I just don't see what those do especially since the top hinge is stationary on the frame.

Also curious about whether or not it is normal for the gasket to sit inside the compartment for the latch assembly. Seems like a great place to get air in there.
