At first I thought maybe some dust had built up over the years and jammed the auger so I pulled the stove out and disconnected the auger motor and verified it was free to turn. Put it all back together and hit the go button. It dropped pellets initially and I saw a couple sparks but it never fired and eventually shut down.

So then I thought "maybe there's a temperature switch and it if doesn't close in a set period of time it stops the auger." To test that theory, I manually lit the pellets and now it seems to be working just fine.

To me this points to a bad igniter, which wouldn't surprise me given the age of the stove, it is somewhere in the 8 - 10 year old range, but I'd like some confirmation before I spend the coin.

Thanks.

EDIT: D*mn, cheapest I can find for the igniter (part number GC60-028) is $525 for the OEM 400 watt igniter. Anyone have any tips on a better price or aftermarket brand that works well?

If you see sparks the igniter is working
How long when first started did the stove run with no fire?
is the fire pot and HOLES clean and pushed against the back
of the holder and (I have done this ) but in backwards ?

1 - I only saw two sparks/embers flying and then it stopped dropping pellets shortly after, and all the fans eventually shutdown
2 - 15 - 20 minutes or so
3 - Yes, I just cleaned the stove and the fire pot assembly is assembled properly and latched in place

After manually starting it with some gel fuel it is continuing to run, coming up on an hour. Kind of leads me to believe it is the igniter, but we will see if it starts back up own its own after it shuts down (it is on a t-stat).

Well it cycled off and back on again as normal. So currently no problems I guess.
