We have decided to replace our Buck 27000 due to extensive cracking on the top. I originally intended on repairing it myself, however upon further inspection the top was cracked way worse than I originally realized.
We use this stove as secondary heat to our heat pump when it gets below 35 degrees or so for a prolonged period of time. I live in western PA for reference. House is a 2 story with a basement. I do not heat the basement with the wood stove, just the main and 2nd floor which is 1750 square feet combined.
The placement of our stove is not the greatest, which is leading to me asking for some input. It is located in a small room at the back end of our house. The old Buck did a great job of keeping the place warm with fans helping to move the heat around, but it really cooked us out of the back room.
I don't want to invest a ton of money into this as we only burn between 1-2 cords a season. I would love to keep it under 2000 for the stove as I also have to invest in a liner as well.
I was looking at something along the lines of an Englander 300-L. Do you think that stove would fit my needs? I do want a stove that has an option for a blower
I have attached a few pictures so you get an idea of the space we are working with. Yes, the music instruments come out when its winter time!
Appreciate any and all advice. I have questions about dealing with my chimney but will make a different thread for that.
