I have a US Stove 2469E, and the "baffle plate" (plate steel close to the top of the firebox, to make the secondary burn chamber) is beyond shot. The front cross pipe under the baffle has been out for a couple years due to degrading. The kao wool above the baffle has a hole in it as well. I can still gauge the correct thickness for the plate, but does it have to be a certain type of steel to withstand the higher heat, or can I use normal plate? Found kao wool on Amazon, and I can make the pipe and drill the air holes, so neither of those are an issue. What diameter gasket do I need for replacing the gasket when I remove the top? And how much should I torque the bolts back down to when done? I know the first one I got, I must've overtorqued the bolts and it wasn't able to expand, as it cracked when I used it. Left this one more loose, and it was fine. Thanks!

I guess since no one knows, this info will be for anyone who comes across this in the future. I looked up the gasket on a parts diagram, it's 3/8" rope gasket. Looked at what baffles are made of, going to get a plate of 304 stainless steel, probably 1/8" thick, but may go thicker. I think 1/2" iron pipe with holes drilled in it will work for the crosspipe.
