I am wondering. I replaced my oil hot air furnace two years ago with a high efficiency gas furnace, that vents directly outside via a combined PVC exhaust/OAK.
I had the old flue for the oil furnace relined with SS flex a few years prior to that. It is now unused and capped off in the basement.
Since nothing else is venting into it, could it be reused for a pellet stove?
Would it be safe?
Would it meet code or fail to meet code anywhere?
Even if all of the above is OK: Is it a good idea?
Edit: Oops, wrong forum.
edit2: Dang mods are fast, they moved it while I was posting my first 'Edit'!
Must be those new high efficiency mods.
