First let me start by saying I have been a lurker on this site for years and have found many answers to my issues over the course of the last 12 years of owning pellet stoves. This one however I cannot find the answer to.
We recently bought a new home and it has a Ravelli RV80C installed in the home as a second source of heat. The stove is gorgeous and will heat the home to over 80F on the power setting of 1 with outside temps in the 20s. We bought the home in April and here in NY we ran it a few times before spring was fully here, so I have a good idea of how to operate it . I also owned a pellet stove in our last home and spent the last 12 years repairing that one.
The weather is cooling off here in NY and I recently decided to run the stove and noticed the room temp sensor was reading 32F. Upon further inspection I found that one of our cats chewed the sensor wire in half that was run out the back of the stove. I think of no problem and I order a replacement one from an online site. Install it as the old one was and it still reads room temp at 32F. If I switch to the console temp sensor it reads the room temp fine. I assumed the part must be bad and requested a replacement and it is doing the same thing reading 32F. I have tried swapping the wires around playing with the settings to no avail. I have the manual for the stove and I am sure I am installing the wires on the right terminals.
Am I doing something wrong here? Bad parts maybe? Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to run this stove in the eco mode but that will be difficult if this sensor will not read properly.
TLDR: Cat chewed room sensor. Replaced with new sensor. Sensor reads 32F. Replaced again with new sensor still reads 32F. Still pulling my hair out.
