Hi all,

Hoping someone has some an answer to a basic question I have. I have a Ravelli Francesca, had it for a few years. On top of the heat exchanger, beneath the Majolica top there is a stainless steel ‘pot’ of sorts. I can’t for the life of me understand what it is for? It looks like it could be for increasing humidity (fill it with water and let it evaporate off). But nowhere in the manual can I find information on what it’s actually for.

Hoping someone here has some insight. See the attached pic for the stainless steel pot on the left of the image.

I have a Francesca that’s a bit older but no such pan. That’s a weird setup. Looks like a water pan but I would think one of the last things you’d want to do is pour water over the top of an electric appliance. In my short time owning a Ravelli stove I’ve noticed they seem to change features within models frequently. At least on the Francescas I have looked at. Also difficult to find good service manuals and absolutely no skilled service available, at least in our area. Fortunately I am a retired electrical tech and have the expertise of good folks on this site.

You got it correct! The small bowl is to fill with water to help humidify your house.. Somewhere in my Elena manual, it directly calls out what that is for..

I have never bothered because the amount of water my house needs vs how small that bowl is, I'd be filling it an awful lot!!

We have a Ravelli RV100 and we use the pan every other week or so just for some water and a few essential oil drops (wife provoked). It doesn’t help much with humidity, but it’s an OK feature. I prefer the smell of the hockey gear drying in front of it. BTW… those Majolica tops are $$$$! We had a HVAC guy installing a Mitsubishi mini split unit use it for a spot to put his knee. I saw the invoice. He had a rough day with the boss.

My stoves are old enough, I would have a hard time sourcing the majolica. I make sure I am extremely careful with it every time I remove it for cleaning
