I am installing my insert into my masonry fireplace. I have the liner in and have attempted to connect the flex liner to the insert with 6" offset adapter ($135). The adapter still won't give me the clearance to fit the parts together properly.

Question I have is, can I use the black stove pipe to make the connection? I have two adjustable 90 degree elbows that will give me the proper offset.

If this will not be legal, does anyone sell SS 90 degree adjustable elbows, will this be legal?

Thanks.

Jim

Don't use black pipe elbows. They will corrode in no time flat. Not a guess. I have done it and ended up replacing it in a years time. A single 15, 30, or 45 degree stainless elbow is far superior. And easier to get a brush through than a convoluted set-up of 90s.

I'm having trouble locating them online, any suggestions?

Stainless 45 and 90s here. And if you call them they probably have the others available since they just have them shipped from Olympia Chimney Supply who has every thing on the planet available.

These folks will have them and they are the only one's out of four vendors that have never screwed up my order. All except one of the others fixed it fast no questions asked but I just like Hart's because they are fast and the people on the phone know what they are talking about. If they ask a question there is a good reason.

Looks under flex liner parts. And be sure to get one that is band connect. Not one you have to use screws with.
