Hello, i am new to this forum, not entirely new to woodstoving but it has been a while.

Hello everyone. I purchased my house about a year ago that has an existing chimney/stove pipe system but does not currently have a wood stove hooked up to it. To get the proper draft for the stove I am purchasing (Kuma Aspen LE), I need to extend my stove pipe further than it currently protrudes from my chimney. I basically want to extend it as much as I can without using stays (since it is located at the ridge). Is there a product you would recommend to secure the base other than the storm collar that is currently there. How tall do you think I can reasonably extend it? Or any other necessary modifications to my current setup?

I also need to connect the wood stove to my current through the wall chimney system. I want to use a double wall connector pipe so that I can get closer wall clearances. As far as i know, my current system is manufactured by heatfab inc (6”) . One rep I have spoken with recommended using selkirk brand pipe parts since they have similar looking fittings. I suppose my question is, can i just connect to the single wall stove pipe possibly with double wall selkirk components through my existing thimble? Or should I purchase some sort of adapter.

I apologize if my wording or terminology is a bit confusing. I’m happy to clarify if anyone has questions.

I had the stove pipe and chimney inspected about a year ago and it is in allegedly good working condition.

Thanks so much for your time.

Danny

Yes you will need an anchor and transition plate to mount a class A chimney extension to the top of the chimney
