Quick question, I bought a new manometer last year (still in package) I want to test my draft out but I don't want to drill a hole into the dvl pipe, does anyone have any idea's, There's a 3ft lead of wire that attaches to the probe, can I stick the probe down the chimney cap and get an accurate reading? or can I remove the bk cat probe and use that hole? Any insight would be appreciated.

Before I hooked mine up full time, I drilled a hole, checked it, put a bolt in hole, no biggie..
30" from stove top, check on full burn, as per BKVP..

Just as I suspected, I'm over draft at .15" water, BK advises to be around .05" I will be installing a damper to slow things down. Also since I have a nice little hole in my pretty double wall (put a small bolt in there for now) I'll be ordering a flue temp probe to fill in the spot.
