Hi,

I just had a Enerzone Solution 1.4 wood stove installed on December 28th 2024 (equivalent of a Drolet Escape 1500) and that same day made a small-medium fire in it when the installation was done. I left the window open when i left so all the fumes air out. I came back again on December 31st and made a medium-big fire in it for about 3-4 hours and left the cabin with a window open. When i came back the 3rd time i January 4th i removed the side bricks inside just out of curiosity and i noticed some rusty dust on the sides.. I was wondering if it's normal after 1 week?

I do want to mention that I am 2 hrs North of Montreal/Quebec and it's an off grid cabin so there is no electricity/heating when I am not there at all..

I asked the installer about this since I was wondering if I should apply some flax seed oil on it to prevent more rusting and he said :

"Don't do anything with it!
It's just on the surface, and it will stop there.
On the production line, things move quickly. The devices are covered with
a large plastic bag before being placed in a wooden crate. Sometimes,
there's a bit of residual paint moisture, and it can leave a slightly rusty tint
on the surface due to the humidity trapped in the packaging.
It won't spread."

I just wanted a second opinion on this forum from someone who might have seen this before? By the way before the bricks were put in initially on Dec 28 there wasn't any sign or rust at all.. see pictures below:

Don't do anything. It probably is just iron dust that settled during manufacturing.
