Good evening
I have recently moved into a new home that has an quadrafire cb1200 FS stove. I've been battling with an lazy flame, after an very thorough clean of the entire exhaust path and replacing the door and combustion gaskets it has significantly improved. Though in my opinion it could be burning more efficiently.
I've spent hours looking through these forums of similar issues and everything I've come accross I have done - except change the firepot gasket. Which I will do if the following comes up short.
The main reason im posting this is in hopes someone can upload a picture of what their firebox looks like. (Below the burnpot). There are two "trap doors" essentially from the bottom of the pot to the ash tray. My trap door on pot is good and closes properly. But something doesn't look right on the bottom trap door that goes to the ash tray. It's an an angle from the hinge that connects the two trap doors and there is an 2 1/2 inch gap. I would assume, to have negative pressure this trap door would need to be flush with hole to so it's not drawing air from the ash tray which essentially is where the fire is located...
So if someone could kindly take a pic of what theirs looks like, that would be fantastic as I can't seem to find anything online to show me if it's right or wrong!!
Thanks!!
